Channing Tatum would rather fight than strip

Channing Tatum would rather do ten rounds in a boxing ring than take his clothes off for a stripper scene.

In his new movie Magic Mike, Channing plays the leader of a troupe of male strippers and was often left baring almost all during filming.

The 32-year-old star says he finds filming fight scenes much less stressful because he knows he won’t look as much of a fool if he has to do a retake.

“On screen fighting and on screen stripping both have their unique little ‘isms’. I think fighting on film is probably easier if you screw up,” says Channing.

“You can just say ‘Cut!’ I didn’t do that right and you don’t really look like a fool, but if you mess up in stripping you look like an utter fool and are like ‘Argh! I’ll have to do that again.’ But it is admitted somewhere and it is on tape that you’re looking like an idiot.”

Tatum recently said he is constantly reminded of his days before acting when he was a Chippendale.

“It does get mentioned a lot and it is embarrassing,” he said. “I don’t really like to think back to doing it but I do remember the reaction of the women.

“It didn’t matter if they were 29 or 90, it was pretty much always the same!”
